What to expect

During your initial consult with Dr Al-Bermani, you will expect a health a comprehensive and thorough review of your current urological conditions and reason for referral.  This will also involve an evaluation of your past medical records to provide critical context.

A routine physical check-up is also an integral part of the appointment, which for male patients experiencing problems with their prostate, may include a rectal examination.

Dr Al-Bermani will review all relevant diagnostic tests and discuss your management options for your care with you and your support person. This could include additional tests, referrals to specialists, or the need for surgical procedures.

What to bring

Please complete the Patient Registration Form. This can be downloaded here and completed prior to your appointment.

Patients should remember to bring with the following for their appointment with Dr Al-Bermani:

  • Referral letter from their GP

  • Medicare, concession, DVA cards

  • Private health insurance details

  • Records or previous surgeries

  • Relevant test results

    • This includes relevant medical reports, including blood and urine tests and imaging

  • A list of current medications

You are more than welcome to have a friend or family member accompany you for the appointment.

Fees & Payments

For initial and review consultations, there may be an out-of-pocket cost, which will be discussed with you on the day. This can usually be paid via EFTPOS/credit card or bank transfer. As we do not keep cash on the premises, please do not make payments via cash. Medicare rebates will be typically dealt with by our staff, therefore patients do not need to apply for rebates or refunds unless specifically asked to do so.

Telehealth

Dr Al-Bermani is also available for telehealth appointments if you are unable to make it into the clinic. Please call the clinic in advance to let us know you if you would prefer a telehealth appointment.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to make your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible to notify us. This will help our practice run more efficiently and reduce the impact on other patients. Your appointment can be rescheduled without significant delay to your care.
